Client Testimonials

Shyam Jha has been my Cirrus instructor for the last 2 years. He has done my BFR and IPC check outs. I have found him to be a great teacher. He is patient, knowledgeable, funny, and someone who helps me improve my flying skills.

I just spent two days with him in Tucson learning the finer points of flying to different airports, learning new procedures, and more. We even landed on the straightaway of a private motorsports racing facility! I would recommend him to anyone who wants to become a better pilot.

Cirrus aircraft are amazing, high performance machines with advanced avionics that demand through and proper training. Shyam has a very calm and confident demeanor in the cockpit, putting you at ease without creating a stressful environment. He has always returned my calls quickly and been flexible with my busy schedule.

He listens to what you want to focus on during the flight and follows up with a through debrief after the flight, suggesting areas that need more attention.

Shyam owns a Cirrus SR22 and is very active on COPA (Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association), keeping up to date on all current issues and procedures.

I have had my Private Pilot Certificate for 12 years and my Instrument Rating for 11 years. It has been quite a while since I have flown with an instructor .

I recently upgraded my avionics stack in my SR22 G2 aircraft to a Garmin GTN750. I contacted Shyam and requested a two day Instrument Proficiency Check. We spend two days and 12.5 hours flying holds, approaches and cross country flights. I know myself well enough to know I had developed some bad habits while flying in Instrument Meteorological Conditions.

Shyam was able to identify and point out items I could improve on. He also taught me a better way to manage my avionics durning instrument approaches. Shyam owns a Cirrus and understands these aircraft. This enables him to recommend safer ways to complete our missions.

I am a very rusty pilot and Shyam flew with me in a Cherokee 180. I can essentially fly the airplane but I'm not very good yet with modern navigation and procedures. Shyam was more than helpful, going the extra mile during and after the flight to show me what I need to work on and giving me references that I can check to better understand operations at non-towered airports as well as showing me some tips on working with Foreflight. I highly recommend him as a flight instructor.

I started training with Shyam for the instrument rating beginning of February 2019. I passed the written exam and the checkride on March 29 on my first attempt, which was within the time I needed to have it done. Thank you for taking the time to fly so often! And the airplane had very good availability.

I’m a retired airline pilot, but a low-time Cirrus pilot. I needed an Instrument Proficiency Check, and I signed up with Shyam for an IPC in the Flight1 Tech Cirrus SR22 simulator.

Shyam provided excellent training. He's got a great instructional manner, and knows the Cirrus intimately. I learned a lot of useful “real world” tips about how to best use Perspective avionics in the IFR environment.

With the sim, we were able to accomplish lots of training that’s difficult to do in the real airplane. Shyam always had sometime useful to say about each abnormal or emergency procedure.

I highly recommend Shyam for any Cirrus instruction, and also recommend the Flight1 Tech simulator.

I trained with Shyam in 2018 while I was deciding between purchasing a SR22 or 182. We went up in his SR22 and he was able to walk me through the differences between the SR22 and 182 very quickly along with an unbiased pros and cons list.

We then moved on to his “Landing Clinic” where Shyam brought in different scenarios referenced in the Cirrus transition training program, the POH and real-life situations and how to handle each of them.

I recommend Shyam for beginner to advanced pilot training but also to help you become a safer and more confident pilot.

I have trained with Shyam and find him to be a precise and effective instructor. He is always available to help with understanding the nuances of instrument approaches, mastering Garmin and Avidyne avionics, as well as the fundamental such as AOA and the importance of keeping proper speeds in the pattern. I always learn something new from him. He is a great Cirrus resource in Tucson area.

I reached out to Shyam as a desperate student pilot with a tight deadline of one month to complete my flight training (with half of the training requirements to go). Shyam went above and beyond to help me attain my pilot license; he was committed, dedicated, and motivated as an aviation enthusiast, safety advocate, and tireless mentor.

Through him, I was not only able complete my pilot license, but also put rich meaning behind the mundane hourly aeronautical experience requirements mandated by the FAA. In the aviation world, the instructor-student bond goes beyond transactional, it needs to be relational as both parties rely heavily on each other to uphold aviation safety and standards. I have had the privilege of experiencing this bond with Shyam as we flew together, and I am confident any pilot-in-training will be have this same experience with him!

As the recent buyer of Shyam Jha’s personal airplane, I appreciated his professionalism and skill in working through the deal process. He has been a great post-sale resource as well. From the other side of the transaction, I can see why he is an excellent airplane broker.

Shyam’s technical and personal skills make him an effective representative for buyers and sellers. As a CFII, CSIP, active member of COPA, and long-time airplane owner, Shyam knows a lot about Cirrus aircraft and what are (and are not) important issues and features with the various models. As an active flight instructor, he is well-informed about how to safely fly these airplanes and can personally handle demo, test, and ferry flights as needed. He combines this knowledge with good business skills to be effective at buying and selling airplanes. Laser focus on the goal, creatively working the problems, bringing the right resources to the table, and sharing several good laughs along the way – this was how our deal happened. He’s clearly in it for the long-haul.

And, while we were closing our transaction, Shyam sniffed out an SR22 on behalf of a buyer-client. Given how tight the market was at the time, this was no small feat.

Based on my transaction, I definitely suggest you contact Shyam if you are considering buying or selling an airplane.

I had the privilege of spending 3 days training with Shyam for my BFR and IPC. Training is often stressful for the pilot-trainee. So, it is important to have someone who is both competent and calming sitting along side you while doing so. I can say that Shyam is indeed both a competent instructor and a calming force inside the cockpit.

Being a Cirrus owner himself makes training with him that more useful to Cirrus drivers, as he understands our airframes and its unique characteristics. He was full of useful tips and concepts that made my flying, approaches, and landings much better than they were before the training.

Finally, I also thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent together as we really bonded with one another talking about flying, planes, and life in general. I look forward to more flights in the future with Shyam and can recommend him to fellow pilots looking to "up their game".

As a relatively new Cirrus owner I am always searching for ways to become a safer pilot and better master my airplane. I’ve enjoyed flying with various Cirrus instructors and I have learned something from all of them. Few, however, have the passion and personality of Shyam. I knew from the first time I met Shyam that I was going to learn and enjoy the experience.

I’ve always been a believer that you learn the most in life from surrounding yourself with the best. Shyam is not one of those instructors just looking to build countless hours only to be hired away. His passion is instructing and it shows.

We had great conversations and many laughs but at the end of the day I felt like a better pilot.

I look forward to many more flights together with Shyam as I continue to learn all I can about enjoying my airplane in the safest possible way.

Shyam is the instructors instructor. Knowledgeable, safety oriented and patient.

As a fellow Cirrus instructor for over 15 years myself, I came to know Shyam when he decided to first purchase an Angle of Attack (AoA) indicator for his own Cirrus.

Shyam understands AoA better than 99% of civilian instructors in the industry. He knows it’s the very best tool to keep pilots safe. His focus in primary training relies heavily on AoA just like the USAF and US Navy. it’s something you won’t find in regular low budget flight schools.

His technical expertise of modern avionics is unmatched. So much so that he is often the requested speaker at safety forums around the country.

If I were looking for an instructor to teach my own children, Shyam is at the top of the list.

I got to know Mr. Jha through the Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association. He was extremely knowledgeable as an instructor as well as a Cirrus Owner.

His background as a teacher really showed when I would not understand something. He would come from a different angle so I could understand.

His service is a great benefit to the Aviation Community. Thanks to Mr. Jha, I am a pilot.
